Javelina Hall of Fame
Stuart Clarkson is a charter member of the Javelina Hall of Fame. He was inducted in 1972.
He received every honor available to a player during his football career with the Javelinas. He was Associated Press Little All-America, Wigwam All-America, was named the best center in the Southwest and was chosen the second best center in the nation by Liberty magazine.
Clarkson, from Corpus Christi, was All-Alamo Conference for two years, captain of the 1940 team and was a member of the “T” Association. He was selected to Who’s Who.
Pop Warner, coach at San Jose State, called Clarkson the “best center I ever saw.” A&I met San Jose State while Clarkson was with the Javelinas.
Clarkson’s sister, Louise Clarkson of Corpus Christi, and a brother, Lloyd Clarkson of Ingleside, received Clarkson’s Hall of Fame plaque.
