Browder played football for Texas A&I from 1967-70 and was a member of the back-to-back 1969 and 1970 NAIA National Championship teams as well as the 1968 NAIA National Runner-up team. Both national championship teams were inducted into the Javelina Hall of Fame in 2011.

During Browder’s time on the roster, the Javelinas compiled a 41-4 overall record, including a perfect 9-0 mark during his freshman season in 1967. For his efforts on the gridiron, Browder was an All-Lone Star Conference first team selection in 1969 as well as an AP Little All-America honorable mention.

Following his career in the Blue and Gold, Browder was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the 11th round of the 1971 NFL Draft as the 263rd overall pick.

A native of Dallas, Browder prepped at Hillcrest High School before coming to Kingsville.
