Kelly Armbruster was a member of the Javelina women’s basketball team in the late 1980s.  She was inducted into the Javelina Hall of Fame in 2002.

Armbruster, from Houston Alief Elsik, was All-Lone Star Conference first team in 1988-89 and 1989-90, and she was named to the Kodak All-America All-District team.  She was named LSC player of the week on several occasions.

She scored 441 points in the 1987-88 season and that ranks as the 11th best single-season total ever.  She had 424 points in 1988-89.

Armbruster’s single-game high was 33 points, that coming against Abilene Christian in 1988-89.

She ranks as the top rebounders in a season and career.

 Armbruster received the Gil Steinke Award in 1989.  The honor goes to the female athlete of the year.  She also was on the Academic All-America squad her senior season.

She received a bachelor of science in education from Texas A&I in 1990.

The honoree has been employed in Houston since receiving her degree.  She currently is employed by Focal Communications and has held positions with Fujitsu, Future Electronics and Pitney Bowes.

She was selected to the 2001 Fujitsu Presidents Club.
