Texas A&M - Kingsville Athletics

Bob Shirey was on the 1961, 1962 and 1963 track and field teams and won Lone Star Conference long jump title in each of those seasons. He had a best long jump of 25-4.5 inches and this still stands as the school record. It was a conference mark for years.

Shirey, from Midland, was named the outstanding field event participant in the 1963 LSC meet.

He was a member of the 1960-61 and 1961-62 basketball teams and was also a member of the Society of Chemical Engineers.

Shirey currently lives in Lake Jackson.
