Javelina Hall of Fame
Margarito Guerrero was an All-American defensive lineman for the Javelina football team in 1969 and 1970. He was inducted into the Javelina Hall of Fame in 1987.
Guerrero, now an administrator at Benavides High School, was on two NAIA national championship teams and two Lone Star Conference title teams while with the Javelinas.
He earned most valuable player honors in the 1969 NAIA national semifinal playoff game.
A junior college transfer, Guerrero was a team captain in 1970 and made the All-LSC and All-Texas College teams as well as the All-America teams for two consecutive seasons.
Guerrero is from Corpus Christi and played at Miller High School.
