LaShawndra Ratcliff is one of Texas A&M- Kingsville’s most successful female athletes. She was with the Javelina cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field squads in 2002-05. During that period, she won the NCAA Division II indoor 60-meter dash gold medal twice and was a nine-time All-American indoors and outdoors.

Her All-America honors came indoors in the 60-meter dash (three times), 100-meter dash (twice), 200-meter dash (three times) and as a member of the 1600-meter relay team. She was named All-Lone Star conference in 2003 and 2004.

Ratcliff was named the LSC most valuable track performer in 2004. She won LSC titles in the 100-meter dash twice and the 200-meter dash.

Ratcliff owns the school indoor records in the 55-meter, 60-meter and 200-meter dashes and was a member of the 1600-meter relay unit that set the school mark. She has the women’s outdoor record in the 100-meter dash and was a member of the 400-meter and 1600-meter relay teams that set school marks.

Ratcliff, from Pearland, has been named one of the Lone Star Conference top 75 athletes. She continued her track career after college, competing on a USA Olympic development team. She ran a leg on a sprint relay unit that ranked in the top three in the world in 2008 and she was ranked in the top 12 in the USA in the 60-meter dash.

Ratcliff holds a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology and nutrition from TAMUK. She has been a personal trainer for more than five years. She specializes in creating individual workouts and nutrition programs. Ratcliff is currently a manager for a S.K.E. Marketing firm.
