Javelina Hall of Fame
Karen Weiss, from House and Alief Hastings High School, is still the Javelina basketball team’s all-time leading scorer in a season. She had 644 points in 1990-91 and that’s 71 points more than any other player has scored in a year. She was inducted into the Javelina Hall of Fame in 1999.
Weiss lettered four seasons and is one of 13 players who have earned four letters since the start of the women’s program in 1968.
