Javelina Hall of Fame
Mike Dyal, from Kerrville, was with the Javelina football team in 1984, 1985, 1986 and 1987. After finishing his eligibility, he signed with the Los Angeles Raiders and played for the club in 1988-91. He was inducted into the Javelina Hall of Fame in 1993.
He was with the Kansas City Chiefs last fall.
As a tight end for the Javelinas, Dyal was best known for his blocking. He was named Associated Press Little All-America his senior season and was All-Lone Star Conference for three seasons.
Dyal was selected the LSC freshman of the year after his rookie season.
The inductee played on Javelina teams that compiled a 30-14-0 record and won LSC titles in 1985 and 1987.
He received a bachelor of business administration degree from Texas A&I in 1990.
With the Raiders, he was a Pro Bowl alternate and holds the team record for yards per catch average. His 18.5 average broke the mark set by Dave Casper.
