Javelina Hall of Fame
Ed Scott was named to the All-Lone Star Conference team three times and was NAIA All-District. He made both the NAIA and Associated Press Little All-America honorable mention lists. He was inducted into the Javelina Hall of Fame in 1980.
The Javelina defensive standout had seven interceptions in 1968 and that was a school record at the time. He also had 17 career interceptions and that, too, was a record. Scott had 20 interceptions, counting his post-season performances.
Scott was a member of four consecutive LSC championship teams, two NAIA national title squads and one NAIA national runner-up team. The Javelinas compiled a 41-4-0 record while he was a member of the squad.
He competed at S.F. Austin High School in Austin.
Scott was injured midway through his senior season and has been partially paralyzed since. He resides in Austin and owns duplexes and serves as a counselor for special programs at Austin Community College.
