John Mark Dixon is a charter member of the Javelina Hall of Fame.  He was inducted in 1972.
            
He was a geography major who received his degree in 1935.
            
Dixon was on the All-Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association team and co-captain of the 1935 football squad.
            
He played four years on the basketball team and was captain for three of those seasons.  He was All-TIAA in basketball and was the fourth leading scorer in the conference in 1932.
            
Dixon, who played high school football at Devine, was vice president of the “T” Association for two years and a member of the Athletic Council for four years.  He was freshman football coach in 1933.
            
He was a Student Council representative for three years, president of Lambda Chi fraternity and an Aggie Club member.
            
Dixon lives in Houston where he is vice president of the Medical Center National Bank.  He is married to the former Vivian Dietz of Kingsville.
