Javelina Hall of Fame
An offensive lineman from 1967-70, Brown played on back-to-back national championship teams in 1969-70. In his first season in Hoggie Land, Brown and the Javelinas went a perfect 9-0 and 7-0 in the Lone Star Conference under College Football Hall of Fame coach Gil Steinke. Following his debut campaign with a 10-2 overall mark and national runner-up appearance in 1968, he was a pivotal member of the o-line on a club that went 11-1 in 1969 and 11-1 in 1970 en route to consecutive NAIA titles.
The Javelinas went 41-4 overall with Brown on the roster. A team captain in 1970, he was enshrined in the Javelina Hall of Fame with the national championship teams and served on several university committees, including the search for current head coach Daren Wilkinson in 2014.
In 1970, Brown was named first team All-LSC and AP Little All-America honorable mention.
