Javelina Hall of Fame
Robin Gordon Sullivan was an All-America performer in track and field. She competed in 1983-85 and was All-American in 1983. She was inducted into the Javelina Hall of Fame in 1996.
She was the team’s leading scorer in 1983 and 1984.
Sullivan holds the school record in the shot put (45-7.50) and discus (159-0). She was named the Lone Star Conference’s most valuable field performer at the 1984 meet, taking the gold medal in the shot put.
From Del Rio, Sullivan qualified for the AAU/TAC Junior Olympic National Track and Field Meet in 1981 and 1982. She was selected to the ISE/USA international track and field team that toured Europe in 1984.
She was selected as the most valuable track and field athlete at Texas A&I in 1983, 1984 and 1985. She received the Gil Steinke Award as the top female athlete in 1984.
Sullivan was LSC all-academic in 1984 and ranked 31st among female throwers in the world in 1984.
She was graduated cum laude in 1986, ranking 16th among 204 graduates. She was on the Honor Roll five times while in school.
She was on the Dean’s List at Parker College of Chiropractic nine times and received her degree in 1991. She was salutatorian of her graduating class.
Sullivan was selected Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities in 1991.
Prior to becoming a chiropractic physician, she taught in the Corpus Christi Independent School District, at Dallas Sunset High School and at Corpus Christi Academy.
She was a teaching assistant at Parker College and had an internship at the school’s public clinic. She has been a corneal procurement technician at the Lions’ Eye Bank of Texas at Baylor College of Medicine since 1992 and also serves as a tissue procurement technician at the Legacy of Life Tissue and Bone Foundation in San Antonio.
She and her husband, John, also a chiropractic physician and a former Javelina track and field athlete, are at the Family Care Chiropractic in Corpus Christi. They are the parents of a son, Ron.
