Javelina Hall of Fame
Allen Kaiser was a starter for the Javelina football team for four years in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was inducted into the Javelina Hall of Fame in 2001.
He joined the team as a quarterback but was switched to defense during his freshman season.
Kaiser was a four-year letterman and he was twice named to the All-Lone Star Conference team. He served as a captain for two seasons.
He was on the 1969 and 1970 Javelina national championship teams that also captured conference titles. The Javelinas were 35-10 during Kaiser’s play with the squad.
He was an LSC all-academic honoree as well as making the all-conference squad as a player.
Kaiser signed as a free agent with the Houston Oilers after concluding his collegiate career.
Kaiser was self-employed as a homebuilder in 1973-75 and became athletic director and head football coach at Center Point High School in 1975 and held that position through 1980. He returned to the homebuilder business in 1980 and was self-employed until 1989 when he went back to Center Point as athletic director and head football coach.
He has received the Respect for the Law Award in Kerr County and has been the recipient of The Optimist Award. He has been a 4H Club leader for 20 years and has been associated with the Center Point Stock Show Association for 10 years, five as president and the other five as a board member.
Kaiser has worked with state and county law enforcement and game wardens and officials in teaching youngsters about gun safety, wildlife and game management, hunting and fishing techniques, and water and soil conservation.
A native of Center Point, he and his wife, Linda, have two children, Julie Ann Smith and Amy Lynn Palmer, and four grandchildren.
