KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville men's and women's basketball programs stumbled out of the gate to begin the Lone Star Conference schedule, but still had solid performances on the hardwood from a pair of upperclassmen as junior

Cloe Lane (Kansas City, Mo.) were named IBC Bank Players of the Week.
Thomas led the Javelina men's program with an 18-point outburst in a five-point loss to A&M-Commerce on Dec. 1, connecting on six field goals in the contest with a 5-for-7 mark from the charity stripe. He also added a pair of assists and one steal in the game.
The Plano, Texas, native had six points, three assists and one steal in the loss to Tarleton to begin conference play on Nov. 29, going 2-for-4 from the floor in the matchup.
On the year, Thomas is leading the team with an 8.0 scoring average on 37.5% shooting, added 13 total rebounds, 17 assists, 10 steals and two blocks.
For the Javelina women's program, Lane averaged 13 points over the course of two games, connecting for a game-high 19 on a 7-for-15 clip in the 60-44 loss to then-No. RV Tarleton on Nov. 29. She added four rebounds, two steals and one block in the game to complete her outing.
The transfer from Alcorn State added seven points, two rebounds and one assist in the decision to the Lions to wrap up the weekend of play. On the year, Lane is second on the team with a 10.0 scoring average, 5.0 rebounding average, 10 assists, 11 steals and six blocks for the Blue and Gold.
The Javelina men's basketball program will take on No. 15 St. Edward's in a midweek matchup tonight with a 7 p.m. CT tipoff. The women's basketball program is in the midst of a seven-game road trip and will take on No. 21 Angelo State on Thursday, December 6, at 5:30 p.m. CT in San Angelo, Texas.
