WICHITA FALLS, Texas (Tennis) – A tough task awaits the Javelinas as Texas A&M University-Kingsville (5-15) looks to upend No. 15 Cameron University (19-3) in the opening round of the 2016 Lone Star Conference Championships April 29 at 6 p.m. at the MSU Tennis Courts.

It will be a rematch of last season's LSC opener, a match then No. 35 Cameron won 5-3 (April 24, 2015).

Earlier this season, the Aggies defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville 8-1 to improve to 1-2 against the Hogs in the last two seasons.

Marija Dimitrovska is 15-10 overall this season and 6-3 in her last nine matches. Regionally ranked No. 6Â
Mariaxi Herrera is 13-7 in the spring and 14-11 overall and
Paula Saenz added nine singles win.
Erika Larrea and freshman
Madi Gomez each have eight wins.

In doubles play, Herrera and Larrea are 7-5 and Dimitrovska and Gomez are 6-4.

No. 15 Cameron comes into the tournament with the top seed after going a perfect 3-0 in LSC play. No. 18 Paula Gutierrez is 20-4 in singles play this season and 15-3 in the spring. She is currently on a seven-match win streak. No. 15 (ITA South Central Region) Zhenia Shviadok leads the team with a 21-4 mark and 8-1 in her last nine matches. Samantha Wood and No. 20 (ITA South Central Region) Angie Torres have 19 wins apiece, No. 5 (ITA South Central Region) Alina Gorina is 17-3 and Mathilde Thibaudat is 15-3.

No. 1 (ITA South Central Region) Shviadok and Alina Gorina are 17-4 overall in doubles and enter the week on a 10-match win streak. Gutierrez and Thibaudat are 15-4 in doubles and Torres and Wood are 13-6.
