Javelina Family,
I am excited to share the July Edition of the Javelina Rundown as we gear up for the 2025 - 2026 athletic year. It's been a busy summer, and we're happy to see our teams' signing classes, rosters, and schedules finalized ahead of the fall season, with opening day for our football, volleyball, and cross country teams just eight weeks away.
Lone Star Conference Expansion
We're proud to welcome UT-Dallas as a member of the Lone Star Conference, bringing the Lone Star Conference to 18 members. The Comets will be competing in 17 sports recognized by the LSC, with teams and individuals immediately eligible for LSC regular season championships and awards. However they will be ineligible for postseason conference tournaments in sports where the conference receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Division II championship.
As the summer days roll on here in South Texas, we currently have over 100 student-athletes on campus readying themselves for the upcoming school year in both the weight room and the classroom, with 125 of them enrolled in summer school.
We will be sending two student-athletes, Eric Barnes (football) and Karina Alvarez (track and field), to the Lone Star Conference Student Athlete Advisory Committee Retreat on the campus of UT-Dallas July 17th through the 19th.
Javelina Hall of Fame
The first two members of the 2025 Class of the Javelina Hall of Fame have been announced, with all-time Javelina legends Patrick Delice and my former teammate, Jaime Martinez, becoming the first two members to be revealed.
Dave Campbell's 40-Under-40
Offensive Coordinator Bradley Wilson was named to Dave Campbell's 40-Under-40 list for high school and college coaches. The 40-under-40 list recognizes and honors 40 of the best high school and college coaches in the state of Texas under 40 years of age.

Football:
Texas A&M-Kingsville kicks off the 2025 season at the Lone Star Conference's media day on July 24th at McKinney ISD stadium in McKinney Texas. The Javelinas will be represented by new Head Coach Scott Parr, new Quarterback Jack Turner and returning defensive back D'Cambren Verrett. Fans of the Javelinas can watch the full media day press conference on FloCollege for free.
Kickoff for the 2025 season is just around the corner, with the Javelinas taking on Lincoln College at Javelina Stadium on September 6th. The last time the two teams faced off against each other, the Hogs handled the Oaklanders 51-21 back in the 2021 season.
Volleyball:
The Javelina indoor volleyball team announced its nine-player signing class, made up of seven incoming freshmen and two two-year transfers, who round out an 18-woman roster.
Alongside its newly-announced roster, the team also has its full 2025 regular season set as well. The year's docket features two exhibition matches, including a brand-new Alumni All-Star Match, set for August 27th, and the Third Annual Javelina Volleyball Classic on their season's second weekend (September 11-13).
Women's Basketball:
The Javelina women's basketball team announced its 12-woman signing class, filling out a 15-player roster. In addition to its two new staff members - Assistant Coach Ryan Weiss and Graduate Assistant Katie Lemanski - the team's new class finalizes its personnel under Head Coach Michael Madrid ahead of the 2025-26 season. The class is made up of five incoming freshmen - all from Texas - and seven transfer athletes.
One of the new signees, Endija Sedlina, an incoming junior from Latvia, represented her home country earlier this month at the FIBA 3X3 Youth Nations League, where she led the Latvian U21 team in scoring across its seven games.
Men's Basketball:
Texas A&M-Kingsville Men's Basketball has finalized the 2025-26 roster, bringing in 6 new transfer players and one new true freshman while retaining 10 Javelinas to form the upcoming roster. Notable among the returners is Allen Singleton, who was second on the team averaging 10.3 points while leading the Hogs in assists and steals with 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
Cross Country:
After a stellar year in 2024, the Javelina men's and women's cross country teams have their meet schedule set ahead of the 2025 season. The team will compete in five regular season races starting with the Bearkat Twilight Invite in Huntsville on September 5th.
Stunt & Cheerleading:
Lindsey Garcia has officially accepted the Head Coach role for both the STUNT and cheer programs after serving as the Interim Head Coach for the cheerleading team during the 2024-25 season.
