Javs Look Ahead to Conference Championships

Texas A&M-Kingsville will be the 4th seed in the LSC Tennis Championships

KINGSVILLE, Texas (Tennis) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (12-9, 1-1 LSC) wraps up the 2017 regular season against #12 St. Mary's University (16-2, 4-0 Heartland Conference) with a 5-1 loss on Monday afternoon at the Javelina Tennis Courts.

Texas A&M-Kingsville found themselves in a 2-1 hole after an 8-6 win for Tabata Lua and Lisa Carvajal versus Hannah Petersen and Ally Maciel. Lua's win in doubles gives her a win in her final home match with the Javelinas.

TAMUK concludes the regular season with an overall 12-9 record and went 2-3 in Lone Star Conference play. The Hogs will gear up for the LSC Tennis Championships on April 21-22 in Arlington, Texas. The Javs are seeded fourth and will face No. 5 UT Permian Basin on April 21 at 10 a.m. The winner of the quarterfinal tilt will play in the semifinals at 6 p.m. against topped rank Midwestern State with a berth to the LSC Championship on the line.
