KINGSVILLE, Texas (Tennis) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (12-8, 2-3 LSC) suffered a loss on senior day to Tarleton State University (10-8, 3-2 LSC), 6-3 on Friday afternoon at the new Javelina Tennis Courts.
Senior Tabata Lua and Lisa Carvajal opened the match with an 8-3 victory over Ashleigh Edward and Erika Johnston in doubles flight No. 2. Unfortunately, the TexAnns won the next three matches bleeding over to singles play before Julia Rauer overcame Ashleigh Elward in straight sets, 6-1,6-3 in flight four. TSU wrapped up the match with singles wins in flights three and one but Victoria Romanovskaia took down Elena Preadca 6-2,6-4 in the second flight for her third consecutive win. Luiza Ferraro-Adas defeated Stephanie Baerman in a tight three-set match (6-4,2-6,10-7) to make the match final, 6-3.
TAMUK rescheduled its match with #12 St. Mary's University to this Monday, April 17 at 2 p.m. on the new Javelina Tennis Courts to conclude the regular season before competing in the LSC Tennis Championships April 21-22.Â
