AUSTIN, Texas (Tennis) – Mariaxi Herrera ended Friday with a singles win over No. 9 Anjali Sampath in flight No. 1 and she and
Marija Dimitrovska won doubles No. 1 but No. 42 Texas A&M University-Kingsville (0-4) fell to No. 40 St. Edward's University (3-2), 7-2, Friday afternoon at Strohmeyer Varsity Tennis Courts.
Herrera, ranked No. 10 in the South Central Region Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, won singles No. 1, 6-3, 6-2, and Dimitrovska and Herrera, No. 10 in doubles regionally, upended Sampath and Marissa Williams, 8-4, in doubles No. 1.
Kingsville battles UTPB (0-6) tomorrow in New Braunfels, Texas.
Scouting the FalconsUTPB is 0-6 on the year and are led by Maria Orona's 2-0 mark in singles play. Megan and Shelby Greene are 4-2 in doubles in the spring.
