KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville men's basketball team closes out the regular season Saturday as it welcomes Angelo State to Kingsville Hampton Inn Court for Senior Day at 3 p.m.
The contest will be the final regular-season game for seniors
Rashad Basey,
Mike Evans,
Dwight Taylor and
Daymon Warren. The Javelinas (8-17, 3-10) will be looking to snap a 3-game losing streak and send the seniors out on a positive note. It will also be a final tune up for Kingsville heading into next week's Lone Star Conference Championship in Allen.
The Rams are 17-8 overall and 7-6 in the LSC.
The meeting is the second between the two sides this season. In the first meeting, Kingsville set a school record by hitting 10-of-13 shots from 3-point range en route to a 79-69 win.
Ta'Quan McDew scored 20 points in the win to lead the Javelinas going 11-of-15 from the foul line. Bryan Hammond finished with 20 points leading ASU.
The game could potentially pit the Lone Star Conference's top two scorers against each other. The Rams' Kenny Williams, who is second with 8.2 rebounds a game, leads the league with 17.5 points a game, while Kingsville's
Rashad Basey is second with 16.9 a game. Basey, however, has missed several games due to injury.
