Previous: McDew, who is one of three players from Frank Phillips JC on the roster, averaged 17.7 points a game as a sophomore while hitting 47% of his shot attempts from the floor...He finished the season sixth in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference in scoring and was first with 2.5 3-point baskets a game...He was selected second-team all-WJCAC following his sophomore season...As freshman, McDew averaged 15 points a game...He was a first-team all-WJCAC performer as a freshman.

High School: McDew prepped at Sebastian River High School for coach Kelly O’Brien... McDew, who also was a McDonald’s All-American nominee, averaged more than 19 points and six rebounds per game during the regular season and helped the Sharks reach the Region 4-5A quarterfinals.

Personal: McDew is the son of Willie McDew. He has five siblings — Willet, Willie, Brianna and Briasia McDew and Michel Pollard. He is majoring in communication.
