In 2012: Basey earned second team All-LSC... He started in all 26 games with the Javelinas, scoring 14 points per game which ranks him amongst the top in the LSC in returning points a game...He led the team in scoring in 13 games and had 20 games with 10-or-more points including a 30-point game against Eastern New Mexico...Basey also led the team in steals and assists averaging 3.5 and 1.5 respectively...He grabbed a season high seven rebounds at A&M-Commerce and swiped three steals on five separate occasions.

Previous: Basey played as a freshman at Moberly Area Community College and averaged 7.3 points, 3.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 45 percent from the field... He then moved on to Kirkwood where he earned NJCAA Division II First Team All-Region XI and NJCAA DII All-Tourney honors. He averaged 10.6 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.3 apg and 2.3 spg while making 53.6 percent of his field goal attempts.

High School: Basey is from Louisville, KY where he played at Jefferstown High School for Jeff Morrow. He helped lead his squad to a 32-3 record and a state championship in 2005-06. He averaged 9.6 points, five rebounds and five assists per game en route to earning KHSAA All-Tournament Team honors.

Personal: Basey is the son of Laron Basey and Tiffany Flippins and is studying criminology. He has seven siblings – James Holder, Terrence Moorman, Michaela Basey, Shavez Basey, Cherish Basey, and Diamond Basey. His aunt Kym Hampton played professional basketball for the New York Liberty. She was the fourth overall pick in the 1997 WNBA Elite Draft.
