Houston - The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's and men's track and field teams added a pair of performances to the top-10 program record book as they competed at the one-day, all-day J. Fred Duckett Rice Twilight Meet in Houston on Saturday.
Leading the way was junior women's pole vaulter
Kenzie Kurdys, who cleared 3.95m, a new outdoor PR, an improvement on her spot as the second-best vaulter in program history, and the new 17th-best vault in the nation so far this season.Â
On the men's side, another pole vaulter, senior
Django Segovia, also leapt his way up the program's record books with the clearance of a bar set at 5.05m, the new seventh-best vault in school history.
Those two add to yet another stellar outdoor season for the Javelinas, which has seen the two teams combine to notch 27 new additions to the program's top-10 record books. Included in those are nine new top-five performances in the history of TAMUK track and field, three on the men's sides and six on the women's, headlined by junior thrower
Yosiris Cordoba, who has twice broken the school's discus record.
Kingsville will be back in action for its regular season finale in Austin for the Texas Invitational.
