Kingsville - After splitting up their teams last weekend, the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's and men's track and field teams will be back together and traveling to Houston in force for the J. Fred Duckett Rice Twilight Meet.
Kingsville will be sending 59 total athletes, 35 men and 24 women, north for their second-to-last competition of the regular season. With the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships looming, the Javelinas will take part in the one-day meet that will feature events starting at 10:00 a.m. and running late into the night.Â
The teams are coming off of yet another excellent weekend, in which it split its crew, sending three distance runners to Azusa, CA, while the rest of the Javelinas went to Houston for the Tom Tellez Invitational. Across those two meets, the teams combined to post eight new top-10 marks in school history and had four performances that moved into the top-25 in the nation.
They enter this weekend's competition having notched 26 new top-10 times in an event in the program's history, and hold 10 top-25 marks put up in an event in the nation this season.
