Javelinas Host UT Tyler, UT Dallas in Final Home Matches of the Season

Kingsville - Riding the momentum of a perfect Saturday doubleheader, the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis team returns to the Javelina Tennis Courts this week hosting No. 27 UT Tyler on Thursday and UT Dallas on Saturday.

The Javelinas enter the week at 6-9 overall and 2-4 in conference play, looking to build on back-to-back conference wins that showed what this team is capable of when firing on all cylinders. With this being the last two home matches of the season, Kingsville has an opportunity to continue to move up the LSC standings.

The Javelinas will once again look to their top performers to lead the charge. Annika Andersson Gomez has been one of the most dominant players in the conference all season, and the doubles pair of Guadalupe Tocci and Maya Donkor have climbed to No. 20 in the country, making them one of the most dangerous tandems in the nation heading into the week.

vs. No. 27 UT Tyler — Apr. 16 | Kingsville, Texas | 1:00 p.m.

Thursday's match presents the toughest test of the week as No. 27 UT Tyler comes to Kingsville riding a perfect 6-0 conference record. The Patriots have been one of the most dominant teams in the LSC this spring, dropping just six points across their six conference matches while posting three perfect 7-0 victories. It will be a challenging afternoon for the Javelinas, but a home court advantage and the momentum from Saturday make this a matchup worth circling.

vs. UT Dallas — Apr. 18 | Kingsville, Texas | 11:00 a.m.

Saturday brings a historic occasion as the Javelinas host UT Dallas for the first time since the Comets joined the Lone Star Conference following their move to Division II. UT Dallas enters at 6-9 overall and 3-3 in conference play, making this a matchup between two programs looking to close the regular season on a strong note.

Saturday will also serve as Senior Day at the Javelina Tennis Courts, as the program honors three players who have meant so much to Javelina Tennis, Yasmin El Fadili, Annika Andersson Gomez and Guadalupe Tocci. All three seniors will be celebrated before their final home match of their collegiate careers, making Saturday an emotional and memorable day in Kingsville.

Two more home matches give the Javelinas a chance to keep the momentum rolling in Kingsville. This week, the courts belong to the Javelinas.
