Javelinas Head to Georgia for Three-Match Road Trip

Kingsville — Riding a perfect 2-0 record and a wave of momentum, the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis team travels to Milledgeville, Georgia this week for a demanding three-match road stretch against Augusta University, Emmanuel University, and Georgia College.

The Javelinas will open the trip Thursday, February 26 against Augusta University at 1:00 p.m., return Friday, February 27 to face Emmanuel University at 1:00 p.m., and close out the weekend Saturday, February 28 against Georgia College at 1:00 p.m.

Kingsville has looked dominant through two outings, sweeping both Collin College and Southern Arkansas University 7-0 in back-to-back matches. The Javelinas have not dropped a singles match this season, showcasing the depth and chemistry that will be put to the test against three Peach Belt Conference opponents this week.

vs. Augusta University — Feb. 26

The Javelinas open the Georgia road trip against the Augusta Jaguars, who enter the week at 2-2 on the season. Augusta is no stranger to success, posting a 13-7 overall record in 2025 while earning a national ranking inside the ITA Division II top 50. The Jaguars were slated sixth in the Peach Belt Conference Preseason Coaches Poll for 2026, reflecting the program's standing in one of the most competitive conferences in Division II. Despite their slow start this year, Augusta brings experienced personnel and conference pedigree that will make for a challenging opener to the trip.

vs. Emmanuel University — Feb. 27

A day after facing Augusta, Kingsville will turn around quickly to take on Emmanuel University. The Lions come in at 1-6 on the season and compete in Conference Carolinas. While Emmanuel's record presents a potential opportunity for the Javelinas to maintain their momentum, the quick turnaround on consecutive days adds a layer of physical and mental challenge. Kingsville will look to recover well overnight and come out with the same sharpness that characterized their first two sweeps.

vs. Georgia College — Feb. 28

The Javelinas close the road trip Saturday against their stiffest challenge of the early season. Georgia College enters at 5-1 and has long been one of the premier programs in the Peach Belt Conference, appearing in the ITA national rankings in recent seasons and making deep postseason runs. The Bobcats are listed among the top tier of the PBC in the 2026 preseason poll, and their home court in Milledgeville gives them an added edge. Notably, the two programs have history; Georgia College edged Kingsville 2-5 in Milledgeville back in 2025 in a tightly contested match. The Javelinas will look to flip that script this time around.

Three matches in three days on the road will serve as a significant test of Kingsville's depth and resolve as they build toward Lone Star Conference play. With their home opener slated for March 13, these road matches provide crucial experience and an opportunity to prove their unbeaten start is no fluke.
