Kingsville - After another stat-stuffing week, Texas A&M-Kingsville right side hitter/setter
Rylan Pollard was named the Lone Star Conference's Offensive Player of the Week.
She becomes the first Javelina ever to win both the LSC's offensive of the week and its setter of the week awards in the same season. Across the team's three wins (3-0 over Texas Woman's, 3-2 over No.10 West Texas A&M, and 3-0 over Eastern New Mexico), Pollard averaged an unbelievable 3.18 kills per set, 4.45 assists/s, and 2.45 digs/s while averaging a .215 attack percentage and adding nine total blocks and four aces.
Included it the weekend were a pair of triple doubles, a stat which she now leads the nation in, in which she dropped 10 kills, 19 assists, 10 digs, three blocks, and an ace in just three sets, as well as a match where she collected 16 kills, 24 assists, 12 digs, three blocks, and an ace in the team's five-set upset of WT.Â
Pollard and the rest of the Javelinas' historic season will continue on the road this weekend as TAMUK heads to Sul Ross State on Thursday (6:00 p.m.) and Western New Mexico on Saturday (1:00 p.m), hoping to stay perfect in LSC play.
