Kingsville - After an excellent senior season, rightsider hitter/setter
Rylan Pollard earned a nod onto the American Volleyball Coaches AssociationAll-South Central Region Team as an Honorable Mention.
The award puts a cap on a stellar career for Pollard, who spent all four seasons of her collegiate indoor career wearing the blue and gold. Her final year was undoubtedly her best, as she stepped into a starting role as both a setter and a rightside hitter. Her unique skill at both positions allowed her to become just the second player in Lone Star Conference history to win both the LSC Setter of the Week and the LSC Offensive Player of the Week award in the same season. She also became just the fourth Javelina all-time to earn two LSC SotW awards in a season, and the first since the spring of 2021.Â
She finished the year as the nation's leader in triple doubles with 11, including four in the last seven matches of the season as the Javelinas made their Postseason push. Those 11 were nearly double any other individual in all of D2 (second place had six).Â
On the season, she averaged 2.94 kills per set on a .234 attack percentage, while adding 4.92 assists per set, 2.46 digs per set, and 51 total blocks. She posted double-digit kills in 20 different matches for Kingsville, including six matches with 15-plus.Â
