Kingsville - At last night's Lone Star Conference Volleyball banquet, three Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball players earned All-Conference honors, led by senior rightside hitter/setter
Rylan Pollard, who was named to the All-Conference First Team.
In addition to Pollard, senior RS
Kendall Harrington and junior middle blocker
Natalee Rush were each named to the All-LSC Second Team - it marks the first career LSC All-Conference honors for each of the three players. Harrington was also selected to the All-LSC Academic Team, the first Javelina to earn a spot on the team since 2021.
Pollard had a fantastic regular season, leading the nation in triple doubles by a massive margin, racking up 11 throughout the year. Earlier this season, she won the LSC's weekly honor as both a Setter and an overall offensive player, becoming just the second player in the history of the conference to accomplish such a feat - she added a second SOTW to her resume just two weeks ago. She brings averages of 2.98 kills/s (16th in LSC), 4.91 assists/s, and 2.43 digs/s , as well as a .244 hitting percentage (24th in LSC) into the postseason.Â
Rush has been absolutely stellar in her third season with the Hogs, stepping into a large offensive roll and averaging a .431 attack percentage, the best in the conference and the third-best in the country. Her extreme efficiency has been powered by a new-found offensive versatility, allowing her kills-per-set average to jump to a strong 2.18 this year.
In addition to her excellent work in the classroom, epitomized by her 4.0 cumulative GPA, Harrington has been the epitome of efficiency this year, averaging 2.72 kills/s (23rd in LSC) while averaging a ridiculous .293 attack percentage (10th in LSC). She won her first ever LSC weekly honors earlier this season, bringing home the Offensive Player of the Week award for a weekend where she averaged 3.47 kills/s while swinging at .400, adding in eight digs and four total blocks.
Kingsville will start its postseason run with a 6:30 p.m. Quarterfinals match against the No.1-seeded Angelo State Rambelles tonight in San Angelo. The match will be streamed live on Flo College
