Kingsville - The Texas A&M University-Kingsville women's tennis team continued its fall season over the weekend at the Javelina Jam. The home tournament marked the Javelinas' third competition in September as they prepared for the ITA Small College Regional Championship at the end of the month.

Competing against Division 1 opponents University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Texas A&M Corpus Christi, the Javelinas demonstrated their trademark fight and resilience.

The matches provided valuable experience against high-level competition with several players pushing their opponents to decisive sets.

Despite challenging conditions and tough opponents, the team responded with determination when tested. With momentum building and team chemistry solidifying, the regional championship presents an opportunity to cap off a successful fall season.

Javelina Wins:

Women's Open Doubles Flight A
Graduate student Maya Donkor and freshman Lilly-Isabelle Muraske defeated a UTRGV duo 8(7)-7(4). 

Women's Open Doubles Flight C
Senior Annika Andersson Gomez and sophomore Andrea Landaeta topped a TAMUCC tandem in a close battle 8(7)-7(4).

Gomez and Landaeta went on to defeat teammates junior Hannah Nagpall and freshman Emma Halvarsson 8(7)-7(5).

Women's Open Singles Flight A West
Muraske outlasted Donkor in a thrilling three-set battle 6-4, 6(3)-7(7), [10]-[8]. 

Women's Open Singles Flight B West
Landaeta edged out Nagpall in a high-stakes tiebreak match 7(7)-6(4), 4-6, [10]-[0].

Women's Open Singles Flight C 3-4 Playoff
Redshirt junior Kaitlin Blount defeated senior teammate Yasmin El Fadili in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
