Kingsville - The women's tennis team will compete on home courts this weekend after two weeks of road action, hosting matches against UT Rio Grande Valley and Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
Competition begins at 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with singles matches played in draw format and doubles contested as round-robin tournaments.
"We love playing on our courts," Head Coach Autumn Wollenzien said. "The ladies are very excited to play at home and showcase to the campus their high level of play."
Following their strong showing in last weekend's Islander Open, the Javelinas are building momentum as they settle into the fall season. Several players demonstrated exceptional resilience against elite Division 1 competition, advancing to finals and semifinals in their respective draws.
This weekend marks the team's final test before next week's ITA Small College Regional Championship in Tyler, TX, concluding the Javelinas' fall campaign.Â
"It's a great way for us to tune up as we head into regional play," Wollenzien said. "So we are super excited for the opportunity to play hard and together."
