Women’s Tennis to open season against Northeastern St.

Kingsville - After a pair of exhibition matches against Division 1 opponents, the Texas A&M - Kingsville women's tennis team is headed to San Angelo to face off against the River Hawks from Northeastern State.

The NSU squad is 0-2, having already started its season last weekend when it hosted Southeastern Oklahoma, who handed the team its first loss, 7-0. The River Hawks then traveled to San Angelo - the site of the Javelinas' neutral site matchup with them tomorrow - and were handed a 6-1 loss by Angelo State.

TAMUK will be looking to avenge a tight, 4-3 loss to the River Hawks from when these two squads faced off last season.

"We are looking forward to some great matches," Head Coach Autumn Wollenzien said. "Last year's match was a nail-biter and didn't go our way. This year, we want to show some improvements. We will fight and work hard."

The match is set to begin at noon and is the first of 11 straight matches away from home to start the season for the Javelinas.
