Milledgeville, GA - In its first of three matches in Georgia, the Texas A&M - Kingsville women's tennis team fell, 5-2, to the Georgia College and State Bobcats.
Both of Kingsville's points came from singles matches, each of which went to very tight third sets. Playing in the No.2 spot, junior
Guadalupe Tocci won her match 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. The No.3 spot saw freshman
Annalena Noll win 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. TAMUK also won one of the doubles matches, as the combo of junior
Kaitlin Blount and graduate student
Luna Jokanovic beat their Bobcat counterparts, 6-2.Â
The No.2 doubles court featured another tight one, with the freshman combo of Noll and
Andrea Landaeta falling 6-7 (2-7). On the No.1 court, Tocci and senior
Manuela Turolo lost, 3-6. In singles play, Jokanovic lost 1-6, 5-7 while playing in the No.1 spot. On four, five, and six respectively, Turolo lost 4-6, 4-6, Landaeta lost 6-7, 7-6, 0-1, and junior
Annika Andersson Gomez lost 4-6, 2-6.
The Javelinas will be back on the court tomorrow for two matches, one at 11 a.m. against Emmanuel and a second at 4 p.m. against Augusta.
