Phillips wins Receiver of the Year, nine Javelinas selected to All-Conference teams

Kingsville - Wide receiver King Phillips was named Receiver of the Year for the Lone Star Conference to headline the season awards for Javelina Football.

Leading the rushing attack for the Javelinas was true-freshman Chumley who amassed 749 total yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground. Leading the way in the trenches for these all-conference names were Trapp and Carrizales. Thompson was also named to the second-team as a return specialist with 20 returns on the year for a total of 503 yards, and a long of 99 yards that went for a touchdown against West Texas A&M.

On the defensive side of the ball Landry led the team in tackles collecting 53, and 36 solos in just seven games played. Meanwhile, Verrett collected 43 tackles and a team leading 5 pass breakups on the year.

Joining them as all-conference honorable mentions for the offense are Jaron Wallace, Jossue Rios, Ryan Webb, Christian Kretz, Kevin Holmes Jr. and Jack Turner.
