ENNIS, Texas - The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis team took on its final match of the regular season on Saturday afternoon, falling to the UT Tyler Patriots, 1-6.
The Javelinas end the regular season above .500 overall for the first time since 2019-20 at 10-9 and 4-6 in conference play. The Hogs are currently seventh in the Lone Star Conference with eighth-place UT Permian Basin set to play their final match tomorrow to determine final standings.
Due to inclement weather, the match was moved to the indoor tennis courts at Ennis High School.
The Patriots got the day started with taking the doubles point, 2-1.
Manuela Turolo and
Luna Jokanovic were the only doubles win for the Hogs on Court 3 at 6-2.
In singles play,
Milou ter Morsche delivered the Javelina's lone point on the afternoon on Court 4. In a back-and-forth battle with Yelena Kim, Ter Morsche took set 1 at 6-3, dropped set two at 4-6, then won set three and the match, 6-4.
Alessa Maier's 12-match win streak dating back to March 8 was finally snapped after she was forced to retire from her match on Court 1 while tied 3-3 in the third set.

The Javelinas await their final seeding for the Lone Star Conference tournament pending the match between UTPB and St. Mary's tomorrow.
