KINGSVILLE, Texas - The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis team is ready to close out the regular season with their final two matches on the road against the No. 42 Dallas Baptist Patriots and the UT Tyler Patriots.
The Javelinas (9-8, 3-5 LSC) are coming off a 2-0 weekend featuring two straight sweeps over Western New Mexico and UT Permian Basin. Dallas Baptist (19-4, 6-2 LSC) is 2-2 in their last four matches while UT Tyler (5-16, 2-6 LSC) is 1-4.
Coming into the week, Dallas Baptist is led by Caroline Hudson on Court 1 and No. 47 Leonie Schondelmaier on Court 2. In doubles play, Isabella Rios and Sofia Teran lead the way, ranked just two spots behind the duo of 
Alessa Maier and 
Milou ter Morsche at No. 17.
For UT Tyler, Muskan Gupta is the top player on the singles courts, coming in at No. 21 nationally with a record of 18-6. On the doubles courts, Gupta and teammate Allison Schwartz are ranked No. 37 nationally. However, in the past three matches, Gupta has teamed up with Yelena Kim on Court 1 instead. 
For the Javelinas, Maier holds position in the most recent singles rankings at No. 6. The senior is on an 11-match win streak in singles play and is 1.85 points behind fifth place, currently held by Maja Jung of Washburn University. Maier and Ter Morsche have also jumped up two spots in the doubles rankings to come in at No. 15 nationally - making them the newest top-ranked duo in the Lone Star Conference.
First up for the Javelinas is Dallas Baptist on Friday at 12 p.m. before taking on UT Tyler on Saturday at 11 a.m.
