WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis team closed out its ranked opponent road trip with a 1-6 loss to No. 3 Midwestern State on Saturday afternoon.

The Javelinas (7-7, 1-4 LSC) suffer just their first 1-6 defeat of the season with their previous worst scoreline being only 2-5. The Mustangs (12-3, 4-0 LSC) pick up their fifth win in a row.

Alessa Maier continues to prove dominant with another 2-0 performance on the day, the only wins for the Hogs against their top three opponent.

Maier first teamed up with Milou ter Morsche on the doubles courts to collect their fifth win in a row against the No. 50 pair in the nation of Jessica Binzari and Anda Ghinga, 6-4.

Maier also battled in a straight set victory with No. 47 Jessica Binzari where both sets went to a tiebreaker game.

UP NEXT

The Hogs are back at the Javelina Tennis Courts as they host their final home matches of the season against St. Mary's, Western New Mexico, and UT Permian Basin. First up is StMU on April 4 followed by WNMU and UTPB on April 12 and 13. The match against UTPB will also be senior day.
