Women's Tennis faces tough road test in No. 24 Lubbock Christian and No. 3 Midwestern State

The Javelinas face two top 25 opponents with seven matches left in the regular season

KINGSVILLE, Texas - The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis team faces their most challenging road test of the season as they take on two top 25 opponents in the No. 24 Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps and No. 3 Midwestern State Mustangs.

The Javelinas (7-5, 1-2 LSC) are coming off a 1-1 weekend, sweeping Arkansas-Fort Smith and falling to then No. 24 Cameron, 2-5.

The Lady Chaps (15-3, 0-2 LSC) come into the weekend after dropping two matches to MSU and St. Mary's. The Mustangs (10-3, 2-0 LSC) are on a three-match win streak, including a win over LCU.

Lubbock Christian is led by Andrea De Bernardo, who ranks No. 30 in singles and No. 40 in doubles with partner Michelle Trochez. The Lady Chaps have a second ranked doubles pairing as well in No. 45 Axelle Jacquemin and Anastasiia Opolska.

Midwestern State brings in three players ranked in the top 75 in singles play with Anda Ghinga at No. 25, as well as No. 36 Hannah Yip and No. 47 Jessica Binzari. Binzari and Ghinga also team up to come in at No. 50 in doubles.

The Hogs take on LCU first on Friday, March 28 and follow up with MSU on Saturday. Both matches are scheduled for 1 p.m.
