PLANO, Texas - Following a clean 7-0 sweep of Collin College in an exhibition match on Saturday, the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis team followed up with solid 5-2 win over the Ouachita Baptist Tigers to start the season 3-0 after a perfect weekend last weekend.

The Hogs got started off on the right foot, taking the doubles point 2-1 after wins from the teams of Alessa Maier and Milou ter Morsche as well as Annika Andersson Gomez and Ella Hester.

On the singles courts, Maier continues to prove her top ten ranking in the country with a dominating 6-1, 6-0 win on court one. Gomez grabbed victory as well in her singles match, winning 6-0, 6-2. Raina Zaffar was equally as dominant, securing the winning point for the Javelinas, 6-2, 6-0. Finally, Luna Jokanovic tacked on the insurance for the Hogs with a 6-4, 6-1 victory on court three.

The Javelinas are back on the road next weekend in Arkadelphia, AR to take on Arkansas Tech on Friday, Feb. 23 and Henderson State the day after, Feb. 24 with both matches scheduled for 12 p.m.
