KINGSVILLE, Texas – Texas A&M-Kingsville's women's tennis team dropped its final match of the regular season to Lone Star Conference foe Dallas Baptist at home on Saturday, 5-2.
The loss drops the Javelinas to 7-11 on the year and 3-7 in conference play while DBU advances to 17-8 on the season and 5-5 in the LSC.
Alessa Maier and Milou ter Morsche dominated once again in doubles play with the pair taking their match at the No. 2 spot, 6-0.
The Patriots took the doubles point however to take the 1-0 lead for the team match.
Just as in TAMUK's match earlier this week against UT Tyler, Maier and Ter Morsche were the only Javelinas to take their single matches at the No. 1 and No. 4 spots respectively.
Maier took the win at the No. 1 line, controlling her match from start to finish, winning 6-1, 6-2.
Ter Morsche put together a strong and complete performance as the Netherlands native took the match in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
Despite the two stellar performances, DBU took the remaining singles matches in straight sets to take the 5-2 win.
The Javelinas now prepare for the Lone Star Conference Tournament in Arlington, Texas beginning on Thursday, April 20 as they take on No. 1 seed Cameron.
The Aggies are ranked No. 9 in the country and defeated the Javelians in the regular season, 7-0.
