KINGSVILLE, Texas – Texas A&M-Kingsville's women's tennis team dropped its second match of the weekend at home to Lubbock Christian, 5-2 on Saturday afternoon.
The doubles point was tightly contested coming down to the No. 3 match after Raina Zaffar and Alessa Maier took a 6-3 win at No. 1 to force a split of the first two doubles matches.
The Lady Chaps (10-6, 1-2 LSC), took the point however, winning the No. 3 match as TAMUK's Milou Ter Morsche and Manuela Turolo, fell 7-6 after losing the tiebreaker 7-3.
In the singles, Ter Morsche earned the Javs first point of the day winning at No. 4, 6-1, 7-5 as the Netherlands native got TAMUK on the board.
The second and final point of the day for TAMUK came from Alessa Maier at the No. 1 taking her match in straight sets 7-5, 6-1.
The Javelinas now prepare for another LSC matchup traveling to St. Mary's on Friday.
