DALLAS, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis team earned its first win of 2023 knocking off the Harding Lady Bison on Saturday afternoon, 5-2.
The Javelinas swept the Lady Bisons in the doubles to earn the first point of the day Manuela Turolo and Raina Zaffar earned a 6-3 win with Alessa Maier, Milou Ter Morsche and Sterre Fleur Moerdijk/Anika Anderson earning 6-4 wins.
Maier made quick work of her match defeating Harding's Grace Dodd without surrendering a single game.
Turolo picked up a straight sets victory winning 6-2, 6-2 followed by Ter Morsche who earned a 6-2, 6-4 win.
Andersson, won an all-out battle in the final match of the day winning the final two sets including an eight-point tie breaker in the second set to secure a 0-6, 7-6, 10-6 victory and the win for the Javs.
The Javelinas are back in action on Feb. 23, as they take on Young Harris College.
