RICHARDSON, Texas - The Lone Star Conference officially announced its list of All-Conference award winners on Thursday, and
Amos Coleman III was named Defensive Back of the Year for his performance over the season.
Eti-Ini Bassey was also named Co-Defensive Freshman of the Year alongside Cole Lalama of Western New Mexico. Additionally, 19 other Javelinas were recognized for All-Conference or All-Academic selections, including five first-team selections.
Coleman finished the year with a team-leading three interceptions, as well as 35 total tackles, one forced fumble with two fumble recoveries, eight pass breakups, and LSC defensive player of the week honors in week. He was named first team defense All-Conference as well. Additionally, Coleman was recognized as second team All-Conference return specialist for his performance on special teams. He totaled 197 kickoff return yards, including a touchdown against Colorado Mesa.
Bassey was the second Javelina to receive headline honors, being named Co-Defensive Freshman of the Year. Bassey racked up 11 total tackles on the season, including three TFLs and a sack. He also forced a fumble against Angelo State and broke up a pass against UT Permian Basin.
Joining Coleman on the first team All-Conference squads are offensive tackle
Kevaughnte McGowan, defensive linemen
Xavier Henderson and
Ezrah Thibodeaux, and linebacker
Caden Ochoa.
McGowan helped anchor an offensive line that gained 131.8 rushing yards per game and 15 touchdowns on the ground, as well as protecting for 169.7 passing yards per game and 11 touchdowns through the air.
Henderson racked up 34 total tackles on the year, including five sacks (one solo, four assisted) and seven TFLs, while also batting down three passes at the line. Thibodeaux collected 51 tackles to his name with five sacks of his own alongside 11 TFLs and two pass breakups.
Ochoa was an anchor for the Javelina defense as well, totaling 43 tackles on the year with two sacks,11 TFLs, and a forced fumble. He also added four pass breakups and two interceptions to his totals, including a 25-yard return for a touchdown against Colorado Mesa.

Additionally, punter
Luke Shaffer was named the to the LSC All-Academic honors as well. The sophomore marketing major from Falls City, Texas averaged 43.4 yards per punt over the season, second-best in the conference and tenth-best in the country, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
