KINGSVILLE, Texas (TAMUK) — On Friday, Texas A&M-Kingsville tennis coach Autumn Wollenzien announced the signing of Sterre Fleur Moerdijk, a native of Ermelo, the Netherlands, who represents the fourth member of the 2021-22 Javelina recruiting class.
 
"Sterre Fleur brings experience to the team," said coach Wollenzien. "She is tall, with strong groundstrokes and a big serve. Sterre will definitely add to what's shaping up to be a very deep lineup for us. I'm happy to have her bubbly, smart personality added to the bunch." 
 
Moerdijk has spent a wealth of time competing at the club level, most recently for Dennis Kockx. Notable accolades include winning the 2019 Provincial U16 Championship and being ranked inside the top 25 for her age group. Additionally, Moerdijk is currently No. 150 on the Dutch women's national leader board.
 
She joins a signing class that includes Renata Gonzalez, Annika Andersson, and Arantza Armas Ugas, who all put pen to paper earlier in the year and will begin competing in the Fall of 2022.  
 
Moerdijk is the daughter of Esther Fleurbaay and Jacko Moerdijk and will pursue a degree in Biomedical Sciences while competing for the Javelinas.
