KINGSVILLE, Texas – For the third time in the spring, Javelina tennis coach Autumn Wollenzien has announced a new addition to her program and her newest Javelina is Lima, Peru native Arantza Armas Ugas, whose commitment was announced on Wednesday.
"Arantza is excited to join our program," said Wollenzien. "She is young, but focused. Her excitement provides a lot of fuel and motivation for a great year."
Prior to coming to TAMUK, Armas played tennis at the prep and club levels. At Santisimo Nombre de Jesus, Armas helped her team win a league championship and was named best player among the league's 17-year-olds. Her club record is just as impressive and includes victories in national tournaments at the U12 and U16 levels.
Armas joins a class that includes signees Renata Gonzalez and Annika Andersson, who announced their commitments to TAMUK earlier in the spring.
