KINGSVILLE, Texas – Coach Autumn Wollenzien has announced the newest addition to the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis program, Mörrum, Sweden native Annika Andersson, who will join the team as a freshman in time for the start of the 2022-23 season.
Andersson spent time honing her craft at Ahus and Karlskrona Tennis Clubs and she's piled up a long list of accolades. Those accomplishments include top three finishes at the U14, U16 and U18 regional championships, with her taking second in two of those events. She also reached the quarterfinals at the Swedish Championship in the U21 bracket. The daughter of Vilma and Ingemar Andersson, Annika plans on majoring in Biology at TAMUK.
"Annika is ranked in the top 30 in Sweden," said Wollenzien, "so it's always a great thing to have a player of her caliber join our team. I'm excited to have her. I feel with her youthful personality, she will be a great addition to our already deep team."
