KINGSVILLE, Texas – Junior Maya Donkor (McLean, Va.) was the lone member of the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis program to compete on the final day of the ITA South Central Regional at the ASU Tennis Courts on Saturday.
Donkor faced Emilija Visic from Midwestern State in the consolation semifinals and battled to a hard-fought, three-set loss. Donkor took the first set, 6-3, but Visic returned the favor in the second set with an identical score at 6-3.
The third set went back-and-forth between the two but it was Visic who won out in the end at 10-8.
The last day of the ITA regional hosted by Lone Star Conference foe Angelo State marks an end to the Javelinas' fall schedule. The team returns to the court in 2022 for the spring schedule slated to start in February.
