WACO, Texas - Due to continued inclement weather and the probability of continued rain throughout the weekend, the 2021 Lone Star Conference Women's Tennis Championship has been canceled.
Texas A&M-Kingsville was slated to play DBU in the opening round of the bracket before the weather became overbearing. The Javelinas finished the regular season 8-8 overall with a 5-4 record in league matches.
Following the conference's policy, Angelo State will be awarded the automatic bid to the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament set for May 10-11 at Wichita Falls, Texas. TAMUK was ranked fourth in the most recent version of the regional rankings, just ahead of DBU slotted fifth. ASU is the top-ranked team in the region, followed by Midwestern State and St. Mary's, and the selection show is set for 7:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday, May 4.
