KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis program returns to action quickly this weekend with a road match against Angelo State on Saturday at the ASU Tennis Courts with first serve set for 1 p.m. CT.

The Javelinas took on St. Mary's on March 31 after a two-week hiatus and fell in their league opener to the Rattlers by a score of 6-1. Freshman Milou ter Morsche (Goor, Netherlands) was the lone holdout for the Blue and Gold as she finished with a three-set win over Elena Munoz in the fifth flight.

Ter Morsche secured the first set, 7-5, before Munoz battled back in the second at 7-6 with an 8-6 super-tiebreaker. The final set went in favor of the Javelina at 10-8.

TAMUK's record moved to 3-5 with a 0-1 mark in LSC play following the decision to StMU. ASU, meanwhile, owns a 7-3 overall and 2-0 record in conference matches and extended their unbeaten streak to four with a 6-1 win over Western New Mexico and a 7-0 shutout of UT Permian Basin.

Virginie Becht is the anchor at the bottom of the lineup with an 8-1 mark in dual play. She is flawless at the five spot with a 4-0 record and owns a 3-1 tally at the sixth position.

Dianela Rodriguez and Alexandra Vishnevska are the other two Rambelles with only one loss on the books. Rodriguez is 6-1 overall with most of her work coming in the third flight, while Vishnevska is 4-1 with all five matches coming at the bottom of the rotation.

In doubles play, Becht has teamed up with Zoe Gubbels for a 5-1 record, all at the second flight. Valentina Gonzalez and Ena Ovcina are 6-2 at the top flight while Maria Delgadillo and Ayda Guler at 6-3 with the most effort in the third flight.
