SAN ANTONIO - The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's tennis program brought the first weekend of the fall season to a close on Saturday with a strong performance in the singles bracket as three Javelinas came away with a perfect score in their respective match at the St. Mary's Quad hosted at the Annemarie Tennis Center in San Antonio.
The first doubles flight came to an end with senior 
Valerie Ruiz (San Antonio, Texas) and sophomore 
Maya Donkor (McLean, Va.) putting together a clean 8-0 sweep of Mary Eby and Madison Starr from Texas Lutheran. The duo Senior 
Victoria Romanovskaia (Simferopol, Crimea, Russia) and newcomer 
Franka Sindicic (Zagreb, Croatia) were unable to follow suit as they fell 8-6 to Abigail Csengery and Charli Delmonico from StMU.
Freshman 
Daniela Koleva (Kocani, North Macedonia) and senior 
Stephanie Baerman (San Antonio, Texas) were locked in a bitter struggle with the Rattlers' Gabriella Ioannou and Grace Bell in the second flight, but couldn't overcome their counterparts as the hosts added a 9-8 decision. Junior 
Laura Montalvo (Cochabamba, Bolivia) and senior 
Julia Rauer (Leiselheim, Germany), however, were able to capture a win as they bested TLU's Bailey Denton and Jade Sosa to wrap up the bracket.
Romanovskaia and Montalvo both found success in their singles bracket as the former took down StMU's Marina Vigil in straight sets at 7-6, 6-3 while Montalvo cruised past Incarnate Word's Taylor Parkinson at 6-0, 6-0.
Ruiz nearly matched her teammate's final score in her respective singles matchup as she overcame Samantha Stafford from Texas Lutheran at 6-1, 6-0, while Koleva dropped a straight-set decision to Ashley Penshorn at 6-3, 6-2.
Rauer was another Javelina to turn in a perfect singles matchup as she didn't drop a point to TLU's Kaitlyn Ehloe at 6-0, 6-0. Meanwhile, Baerman ran into the Rattlers' Csengery in her singles match and fell 6-0, 6-2.
Donkor and Sindicic both added wins in the final singles bracket, with the former posting the third perfect score of the day at 6-0, 6-0 over the Bulldogs' Jessie Behal, while the latter added a 6-3, 7-6 win over Ioannou from St. Mary's to wrap up the first quad of the fall season.
The Javelinas will return to action next week at the second annual Javelina Quad starting September 20 at the Javelina Tennis Courts.
